It is the goal of the physical education department to promote a positive attitude towards active lifestyles through fitness and skill development, participation in sports, and good health practices. This class will focus on physical, social, and mental/emotional aspects of a student’s development.
High School PE/Health
This course promotes the development of a Physically Educated person by learning a variety of healthy skills through activity. The main objective of the course is for students to develop their skills through full effort and participation so they can find enjoyment in a healthy active lifestyle. Many of the sports played in this class will be team based sports that focus on working together and seeing the benefits of sportsmanship in competitive style games. Sports include: Soccer, Frisbee golf, Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, Basketball, Pickleball, Volleyball, Badminton, Floor Hockey, Team HandBall, Weight lifting, Small Sided Team Games, Kickball and Softball.
Lifetime Sports
Lifesports is a course that focuses on a variety of skills needed to participate and spectate lifetime sports. Most sports will be individual or duo based sports that allow students the opportunity to navigate small sided games, with the occasional team sport mixed in. Sports include: Swimming, Frisbee golf, Pickleball, Tennis, Bike Riding, Volleyball, Badminton, ping pong, Ultimate Frisbee, Yard Games, Conditioning and a few team sports(basketball, soccer, softball).
