PRESIDENT MESSAGE
FR. CURTIS SIEDEL
I have a great love for Catholic Education, but the Walla Walla Catholic Schools are uniquely special. As a PreK-12 system, Assumption and DeSales are uniquely suited to propose a consistent hypothesis of the nature of reality from the first days of a child’s education through his or her high school graduation, this hypothesis is proposed through every class topic, through every extra-curricular activity, through every class retreat, and is present throughout the family environment of the whole community. In brief, this hypothesis states that God who is Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and Love itself created all that we come to know in our study of Science, History, Math, English, Art, Music, and every other topic. He is the God who created you and me and every child in His own image and likeness, thus every person has intrinsic worth beyond all measure and should be loved as we love ourselves. Finally, He is the God who so loved us that He took on human nature itself, thus revealing to us what it means to be human. At the Walla Walla Catholic Schools, we propose that to know Jesus Christ is to know what it means to be fully human and to be fully human is to be filled with Joy.
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
JOHN LESKO
Welcome to Walla Walla Catholic Schools! It has truly been a blessing to serve as Principal for Walla Walla Catholic Schools, working with our families, students, and staff to provide Catholic Education Pre-K through 12th grade in our community. We are extremely proud of our rich history and storied tradition which dates back to 1864. Assumption Early Learning Center, Assumption Catholic Grade School and DeSales Junior and Senior High School continue to provide opportunities and experiences for our school community in the areas of academics, faith formation, service, and activities. We strive to help our students grow in mind, body and spirit, developing them to become disciples of Jesus Christ: strong in virtue, exceptional in learning and generous in service.
Parents and students are invited to become part of the Walla Walla Catholic Schools family, a family that supports one another and nurtures the spirit and the heart of each individual for the good of all our school community. Students benefit from being a part of this community by being given many different opportunities to practice and grow in the virtues of grace, mercy, and gratitude. In addition to the strong academic programs, students at Walla Walla Catholic Schools are invited to participate in athletics, fine arts, community service, and other extracurricular activities and clubs. It is through these rich opportunities that students are encouraged to embrace and use their unique God-given talents for the betterment of the WWCS community and the world.
Please join us in creating a supportive school community where we develop young men and women who are passionate for life, and who are filled with the spirit and the grace of God!
ELC DIRECTOR MESSAGE
GEOFF WHITE
There are so many amazing things going on at the ELC. We have a staff of dedicated teachers creating a rich, warm environment to broaden your child's world. We act as an extension of your arms and open that world up to your child. We do this through exposure, introduction, guidance, literacy activities and more!
Each child develops at a different pace, that is why we have chosen to have smaller enrollment for our preschool classes. This way each child will feel safe while they explore the world around them. It gives way to each child finding a spot and a voice within the classroom setting. As your child grows and becomes confident in this, they will move to more of a readiness program. This program will prepare them for success in the Kindergarten class. We work with each family to make that transition as smooth as possible. The best part of our work is including Jesus in the classroom. We foster a love for Jesus, model loving behaviors and practice forgiveness. These are all great seeds, that when planted and watered will yield great fruit.
Please take time to look at what we are doing at the ELC. If you have questions or want to take a peek at a class just call the office at (509) 525-9478.
Your child's comfort and growth here at the ELC are our first priority.
