Scrip is an extremely effective fundraising program for
the Walla Walla Catholic Schools.It
makes use of gift cards and certificates that can be purchased at both
Assumption and DeSales school offices during normal school hours.There are several merchant discount programs
that are considered part of the scrip program as well.
How does scrip work?
The gift cards, certificates and services used in the
Scrip program are purchased in advance at reduced rates and sold to you, the
customer, at face value.The profit is
based on this difference and the generosity of the merchant or vendor.The income generated by Scrip is used for
general operating expenses for the Walla Walla Catholic Schools.
The Scrip program is considered a business and is
conducted like one.Payments must be
made in full, cash or check only.
Why use scrip?
By buying Scrip you are automatically benefiting our
schools and our children.Additionally,
there is a personal reward.Each year as
registration time comes around, the Scrip team totals each family's purchases
and gives a 1% tuition credit for the next school year based on your Scrip
total.That may not seem like much now,
but when you use Scrip for groceries, school uniforms and supplies, appliances,
clothing, auto repairs, and dining…well, the numbers will surprise you.Our top Scrip family in 2006-2007 received a
tuition credit of over $200.
You may also have friends and family members designate your family to receive credit for their purchases. Make sure they note this on the "Sponsor" line of the order form.
Special Orders
If you are anticipating a large purchase, let's say a new
appliance or computer, we will be happy to pre-order the amount of Scrip you
may need.This is the only way to guarantee that we will have exactly what you
need in stock.Pre-orders must be paid
in advance.
Another type of special
order is for an item we don't typically carry.We order most national Scrip items from the Great Lakes Scrip
clearinghouse.You can visit their
website at glscrip.com and see if there is something you'd like special ordered
for you.
Most special orders will be delivered in 3-4 days, so plan ahead whenever possible.
