Mexico Mission Trip 2008
During the summer of 2008, thirty DeSales students and
chaperones traveled to Tijuana,
Mexico for a
ten day mission trip. We traveled with
an organization called Los Embajadores, a non-profit organization that provides
Catholic-based mission programs for youth.
(For more information visit http://www.losembajadores.org/public/).
While in Tijuana, we helped build a fence for a local
Catholic school and made a sandbag wall to minimize the effects of
erosion. The mission trip gave our group
chances to learn first-hand about immigration, the border fence controversy and
social justice. We were given many
opportunities to serve the poor, the less fortunate and the youth of the
community through various activities.
The next opportunity to participate in a mission trip will be the summer
of 2011. Please contact Michael Scheel
at DeSales High School for more information.
