OPPORTUNITIES TO ASSIST THE WALLA WALLA CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

There are numerous ways to assist the Walla Walla Catholic Schools.  Below are just two areas where you can help.

Financial

Tuition pays for only 63% of the operation costs of the WWCS.  Parish subsidies, endowment income, and fund raisers significantly defray the actual cost of educating our students, which is over $1,500 more per student than the tuition rate.

Financial contributions can be made in the following ways:

1. Annual Fund : Gifts to the Annual Fund are used for financial aid for students with demonstrated need and to support the academic programs of the school.  The goal for 2008-2009 is to raise over $200,000 to support our students and programs.

2. Gift to the Endowment :  The Endowment for the Walla Walla Catholic Schools is used to cover operating costs, scholarships, and academic programs.  The endowment is currently worth over $8 million dollars. 

3. Tuition Assistance Fund.  The Tuition Assistance Fund provides financial aid directly for families that need help in meeting the cost of their children’s education.  Interested contributors can either “adopt a student” with need or make contributions to the Tuition Assistance Fund.

4. Support the WWCS Fundraisers:  Sausage Fest (first weekend in October); HOPE Dinner (last Saturday in April); Scrip ; and the Assumption Magazine Drive (fall semester).

5. Booster Club : The Booster Club raises funds for our sports teams.  All costs for athletics beyond the salaries for the coaches are paid for by student fees, ticket sales, and Booster Club fundraisers.

Volunteer

The Walla Walla Catholic Schools are always looking for people who can contribute their time and expertise to the schools.  For example, you could get involved with a fundraiser, tutor a student, assist in a classroom, work at the fair booth, or help at an athletic contest.  These are just some of the many ways to get involved.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Principal John Lesko at 509-525-3030 or jlesko@wallawallacatholicschools.com .
