The tri-parish Catholic community in Walla Walla celebrated, prayed for, and showcased their local Catholic schools – Assumption School and DeSales High School – with a packed week of activities ranging from liturgical celebrations to school spirit events.
The Sunday liturgies of January 28-29 began Catholic Schools Week on a prayerful note. In their homilies, the priests of Walla Walla emphasized the need for Catholic schools that humbly “boast in the Lord” (cf. 1 Cor 1:31) and encouraged all parishioners to spiritually support these schools through their prayers. Students, teachers, and staff received a special blessing during Mass as well. The annual Mother-Son Brunch also took place on Sunday and continued a DeSales tradition of young men honoring their mothers, grandmothers, and other influential women in their lives.
